American & British citizens do not need a visa to enter South Korea for stays up to 90 days. You will need a valid passport, a return or onward ticket, and should complete the e-Arrival Card online up to 72 hours before departure at e-arrivalcard.go.kr.

Taiwan (ROC) citizens are also visa-free for stays up to 90 days. You will need a valid passport, a return or onward ticket, and the e-Arrival Card.

Don't worry — getting from the airport to the city is easy and well-signposted in English! If you have energy after your flight, consider the AREX Express Train to Seoul station.

Taxis in Korea are safe and reasonably priced. From Incheon Airport to Gangnam, expect to pay around ₩70,000–80,000 KRW (~$50USD) including the expressway toll. All taxis are metered and regulated, and credit cards are widely accepted. If you'd like an English-speaking driver, look for the International Taxi stand at the airport.

If your hotel is in a major area like Myeongdong or Gangnam, and you are arriving before 11:30PM, the Airport Limousine Bus is a great alternative — it stops right at major hotels and announces stops in English.

Trains and buses in Seoul run frequently, are very clean, and cover virtually every corner of the city. To use the metro or bus, we recommend picking up a T-money card at a convenience store or subway station. Top it up with cash and tap in and out at the gates. Taxis are also widely available and relatively cheap by Western standards. Note that Uber is available in Seoul but has limited coverage — Kakao T is the better local equivalent. You can use it to hail taxis, book rides in advance, and request English-friendly drivers. For navigation, use Kakao Maps or Naver Maps.
